This is the centerpiece that our location provides. Kile and I really like it but it's really basic...any ideas on how to make it pretty? we were thinking to make or buy rings of flowers that are red with a little bit of ivory in them....and adding flower petals... (thing is i hate fake flowers!) i think if we did that it would look really beautiful and romantic with all the votives lit.
here is where we are getting married....the heart shaped arch is not included neither are the swags of fabric...we also need ideas on how to decorate this area. We thought perhaps to do swags of red fabric and tie bows on the chairs on either sides of the aisle...lots of rose petals...
any suggestions?
I really like the way this looks...except the fish bowls....and i'm not sure we can do a runner...i'm concerned about getting all tangled in the runner with my dress...and sinking into the grass with heels. we thought perhaps just using petals to make a shape of a runner...i have also been toying with the idea to make rose balls and hang them off like shepard crook looking hangers to decorate the aisle but kile didn't like that idea....
another thing that i like...i think we may buy an "a" one to hang on the doors that you walk through to get to the ballroom.

and a different take on the card box....
we were thinking of putting pictures of us on the ledge along with standing letters that spell out adams in red and black...maybe some flameless candles and petals? maybe also swag-ing fabric hanging down....not too sure on that?
I found this great poem that I want to incorporate but don't know how...
I love you for so many reasons,
large and small,
and all of them are wonderful.
I love you for all
the special qualities
that make you "you", one of a kind,
the only one in the world for me.
I love you for the things you say
that bring such special meaning to my life,
and I love you for the silent times
when your eyes and your arms
tell me all I want to know.
I love thinking of all the adventures we may share, the places we may go,
the discoveries we may make together.
I love you because you know how
to bring out the best in me.
I love you...
just because I do...
because now, in a place
where there was nothing before,
in the deepest part of my heart...
there is love.

You have great bones to work with there, and there's so many things you can do! I can see why you are having trouble! I love the idea of doing rings of flowers around the centerpieces, and I don't think you would need additional flower petals. Ginny is awesome when it comes to swags of fabric, and our family is always on the lookout for a great deal. Just tell us what kind of red, and we'll help find it cheap! I love the idea of a flower petal runner down the isle. I think that would be beautiful, but I'm not sure about the chairs. There's so much that can be done! The "A" in flowers would be pretty, and the photo table is a great idea, and one that my mom and Missy are good at. I think Missy did the picture arrangements for Mandie's reception, if I'm not mistaken. Thanks for sharing all of this stuff! It's fun to have something to think about other than the stinky diaper that is on Eddie's bum!
Wow, that's a lot of info in one post. I think maybe we should all get together for a brainstorming session. Bows on the chairs would be beautiful and super cheap--you can get 100 yards of ribbon for less than $10 and it would make 20 gigantic bows.
If we had swatches we can watch for fabric at Wal-mart's $1 bin. And keep in mind that Chrystal gets a discount at Joann fabrics and has a "double discount" day coming up in October I think. Tulle fabric is super cheap and if you have a whole year you can watch for a sale.
We're used to doing these on a much shorter time frame, so having so much time is going to be a real treat!
I love the idea of having rose petals down the isle. As for the runner, would your heals sink into the grass anyways? The fish bowls are definitely out. The heart shaped arch is okay, but I think it is beautiful without it.
Well, we are not doing the arch on the gazebo...that was something that they rented (as in whoever's wedding it was)...Definitely no fish bowls...not big on the tulle on the chairs either...i just kinda like the basic idea of it. Yeah, my heels probably would sink into the ground anyways...i don't want to be the bride that everyone remembers for tripping on the runner lol!
